Relyve AI · Last updated 26 August 2026
Relyve AI is a companion app for people living with dementia and the people who care for them. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to get it deleted.
Because this app is used by two different people — a caregiver who holds the account, and a care recipient whose information is stored — we have been explicit throughout about which of the two we mean.
If you are setting up this app for someone else: you are providing personal and health information about another adult. Please read "Information about the person you care for" below before you continue.
Relyve AI is operated by Israr Khan, an individual developer. For data protection purposes I am the data controller for the information described here.

A postal address is available on request to the address above.
We do not collect location data, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
Most of what this app stores is about someone other than the account holder, and much of it is health information. Two things follow from that.
You are responsible for having the authority to provide it. By entering information about another person you confirm you are their carer, next of kin, or otherwise entitled to act for them — and that, so far as they are able, you have explained to them that the app records conversations and check-ins.
They keep their rights over it. The person being cared for retains the rights described in section 8 over their own information, whether or not they hold the account. They, or someone acting for them, can contact us directly.
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Run your account | Name, email, password hash | Performance of a contract |
| Medication and task reminders | Schedules, push token | Performance of a contract |
| Companion conversation | Voice, transcripts, life-story details | Explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)) |
| Mood and wellbeing insight | Facial images, mood inferences | Explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)) |
| Reading medication labels | Photographs of packaging | Explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)) |
| Keeping the service secure | Server logs, device identifiers | Legitimate interests |
| Subscriptions | Purchase status | Performance of a contract |
Health information is a special category of data. Where we rely on explicit consent you may withdraw it at any time by deleting the account (section 7), which stops that processing and removes what we hold.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We use the following processors:
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Gemini API) | Voice audio, conversation text, facial images, medication photographs | To generate the companion's replies, infer mood, and read medication labels |
| Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) | Push token | To deliver reminders |
| Amazon Web Services | All stored data | Hosting and databases |
| Email provider | Email address | Verification codes and deletion confirmations |
Our Gemini usage is on Google's paid API tier, under which Google does not use the content sent to it to train or improve their models. Content may be retained briefly for abuse monitoring under Google's own terms.
Our servers are located in India (AWS, Mumbai region). If you use the app from the UK, the European Economic Area, or elsewhere, your information is transferred there. For UK and EEA users these transfers are made under the UK International Data Transfer Agreement and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
You can delete your account, and everything stored about the person you care for, at any time:
We send a confirmation link to your email address; the deletion happens only after you confirm. It removes the account, the care recipient's profile, medications, tasks, journal entries, photographs, mood history and conversation transcripts. It cannot be undone.
Depending on where you live you have the right to access your information, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. These rights extend to the person being cared for.
To exercise any of them, email israr002khan@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days and do not charge.
UK and EEA users may complain to their data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. California residents have the rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing under the CCPA; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. Indian users have the rights set out in the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.
Relyve AI is for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
